DIY Vintage Postcard Calendar Journal (by designsponge)

Growing up, I kept a daily journal. I always enjoyed looking back at previous entries to see what had changed over the course of a year. These days, I can’t seem to find the time to journal, but I do try to jot down a little note from each day on my perpetual calendar/journal. The idea is very simple — flip to the current date and at the end of the day, write down something that happened. Some days it is big things like “Annie took her first steps.” Other days it is small, like “needed more than one cup of coffee this morning.”

The first year is the least rewarding, but I imagine that in 10 years, it will be a daily treat to be reminded of what happened on that date over the last decade. I think these would make great gifts this season, not only for adults but also for older kids, baby showers, retirement parties, wedding showers and more. Enjoy!

Another book that I somehow managed to escape high school without reading. It’s really good so far and I’m only on page 8. I’ve heard great things about this book so I hope it lives up to it’s expectations.

By the way, I’m back on track for my 50 book challenge. =D

Just Finished Reading: Monster

Which I had read in high school and really enjoyed. I really enjoyed it again. Written like a screenplay, this story is an amazing tale of a teenage boy on trial for murder. It’s from his point of view and it’s breathtaking. The insight we get, the way it plays like a movie in your head thanks to the writing, it is perfect.

Read it if you haven’t. It’s super fast and easy to get through because of all the white space on each page. It’s a great story
